Hi everyone
I've been looking at the scan photos I had at 8w6d and I think they look weird. The fetus turned round (hence the 2 views) and was moving. Does anyone know what the black splodge on its head is? Too far over for eyes, too big for ears.

Here's the scan photo

Not sure what the blob is but my scan pic showed a blob too at my 8 week scan. Had a scan at 12+3 and yesterday at 14+5 and all looked ok.

Isn't it just showing part of the brain? My early scans had the same

wishuponastar1988 · 12/02/2022 19:42

@annlee3817 yeah I think it must be!

Wow the brain? Is it normal to see that?

Sorry if I'm being silly, I'm very anxious

@Carebear99 it is a normal part of the brain called
the rhombencephalon. No need to worry. All normal.

@Poppiesway1 thank you so so much! I hash no idea

Try and remind yourself that the professional doing the scan does this for a living. If they were even remotely concerned about anything, they would say something.

Lovely scan pics btw showing some lovely little details, including the developing brain.

Thank you. It was amazing seeing it move and the sonographer was amazed it had turned completely over!
