I’m 8 weeks post partum and had c section for my lo. I didn’t gain much weight while pregnant & am now down to below my pre pregnancy weight but I have the c section shelf at the bottom of my stomach - wil this go away with time or is there anything I can do to help it ? Or am I just stuck with it now !

I know my friend who's had a couple of c sections can't get rid of hers, she's lost so much weight but it's still there. She looks great though and you can in no way see it under clothes but she said because she knows it's there it bugs her

I'm a fit and healthy size 8. I run, weight lift, cycle, climb and eat an extremely clean diet. I have pretty defined abs. At the top of my abdomen!

The shelf will never go. It's been 14yrs. But 8wks is early days. Give it a bit longer as it may improve but prepare for it not going completely.

I've had two c-sections, my last was 21 years ago, and I still have it.

To be honest, I didn't have feeling around the scar for 17 years too.

It's okay though.

My DS has just turned 1 and no sign of mine going. I lost all my pregnancy weight (and more) within the first couple of months post partum but still have the overhang/shelf

No because it's scar tissue therefore fat can never really grow there again and instead has to kind of sit on top. I have lost loads of weight over the years and it's never gone. Not noticeable with clothes on though especially good pants.

Mine went! It took a couple of years. I don't have a flat stomach - far from it - but it is more rounded rather than a shelf now.

I was in a right state for months after giving birth, but it did go away. I had physio for diastasis recti. Worth checking whether you have that (it's separation of the stomach muscles)

10 years after my second section and no its not gone.
