Sore and achy hips when sleeping? Looking for a friend…

As soon as I hit 15 weeks at the start of this week it’s become so hard to find a comfortable position to sleep in at night! I go to sleep fine and sleep well for the first 4-5 hours and then the rest of the night is agony. I can only describe what feels like sore/achy/tired starting from my glutes, hips and sometimes thighs! I have a pregnancy pillow which is usually super comfy but it doesn’t really help much with this. As soon as this starts on one side, I turn on the other,
But then it starts there as well. The only comfortable position is on my back, which I know I should start weaning myself off of.

Does anyone else experience this? Any advice or tips how to alleviate the discomfort? I haven’t had a restful night of sleep all week, so I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance!

Sleep with a small pillow between your knees if side sleeping

What type of pregnancy pillow do you have? I didn’t find relief until I bought an enormous one😂

Queen rose I think it was. I needed my whole leg supported from knee to ankle.

I had this too, it got worse throughout my pregnancy. Massage helped a little.. delivery cured it! Sorry, not much help but I feel your pain!

I had this. I put a spare duvet on the bed to sleep on top of. It really helped.

Pillow between your knees/under the top knee. Life-changing.

Pillow between the knees and pillow either side of you so whichever way you turn, your bump has support.

I changed my mattress for the memory foam one in the spare room, fixed the issue completely. I would wake up in the night almost crying with the pain before I made the swap!

I got this throughout my pregnancy with dc no.1 & I’m starting to get it again now with my current pregnancy.
It’s a achey pressure on the hips for me.
The only thing that relieves it somewhat is putting a chunky pillow between my knees & swapping sides every so often.

Oh yes, I hit one of those u shaped pregnancy pillows too l, to help support my bump and back with did help. Abit awkward at first trying to position myself but after a few nights, it was ok!

I had this in my first pregnancy, I had a U shaped massive pregnancy pillow but it didn't really fix it. In my current second pregnancy, my husband bought me this and it has been amazing, completely fixed the issue whilst sleeping and I wake up properly mobile in the morning, I would highly recommend it over a pregnancy pillow, and it's a fraction of the cost

In my first pregnancy, I also got PGP in the third trimester, its started at the end of the first trimester this time and the pillow has helped with that also.

I really sympathise. I was referred to a women's health physio but she had nothing to say about how to sleep with hip pain. That JML pillow looks like it could be good for underneath whichever hip I'm lying on, so I'm going to try that!

39 weeks now... I have a folded up blanket followed by a folded single duvet on my side of the bed to allow more "give" under my hips which has been the only thing that truly helped the issue and it's not perfect by any means. Pillow between the knees sometimes helps, but sometimes I actually find it makes the pain worse. Switching sides every time you wake up can help shift the pressure to the other side for a bit too.
