HELP!!! restless legs and stuffy head

Almost 30 weeks and sleep is proving to be impossible. Absolutely miserable here.

My legs (calves) are so restless and aching, they are driving me mad. Baths and heat packs help briefly but then it comes back. Worse when feel are up on the bed or sofa. Trying pressure stockings right now but not helping.

Also feel extremely stuffy in my head, on a night is worse. Blocked nose, headache, tinnitus which is like a pulsing heartbeat sound, feel like there's no air in the room and I can't breathe.

Been using vicks and having the windows wide open. Having direct breeze on my face feels like the only way I can breathe but poor hubby is freezing

Any suggestions much appreciated 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

You could try putting your feet in ice cold water before bed x

Magnesium spray on tbe bottom of your feet. Stings like a bitch but helps. Eating banana also helped me

Maybe get your iron levels checked...I had restless legs so took a liquid iron booster and it was almost instant relief (but discuss with your midwife before taking!).
Gentle yoga stretches before bed...also a life saver! Search on YouTube for yoga for restless legs.
It's a nightmare, I also had very severe spd by 30wks too so was awake almost all night in pain from something!

@Candyflosscrochet that's really interesting, I had bad restless legs and showed up anaemic in bloods a few weeks ago so I was put on iron and realised now the restless legs are gone!

I’m not pregnant but I currently have hay fever type symptoms and although it seems far too early for even my hayfever it’s improving with hayfever meds and I can tell when I’ve forgotten to take it. The nasal sprays are suitable in pregnancy.

Echoing that you should get your ferritin checked. I went into pregnancy with good stores but have had tell tale restless legs this week so getting them checked again. Ferritin need to be higher for restless legs (50 rather than NHS minimum of 15).

I’ve also suffered pregnancy rhinitis all the way through and from end of first trimester used a steroid nasal spray at night which is the only thing that helps me.

Magnesium supplement for restless legs helped me massively. Also putting a cool hot water bottle on the back of my knees (the pressure and the coolness really helped) also you can get cooling gel from the pond shop, that was great too.

Thank you all for your tips. I've only recently had bloods done and nothing came back so guessing my iron levels are ok.

Been and got some magnesium supplement and magnesium oil to spray on. Will try those today. 🤞🏻

Hi all, just a quick update. My midwife phoned me at the back end of last week to check that knew I was anaemic from my 28 week blood test. Hospital had not informed me (hospital and midwife are in different trusts so don't use/access the same system 🙈).

Started iron tablets twice a day and been taking a spatone iron liquid once a far and it's massively helped the legs already!!!
