Baby’s AC measuring too small

Hi All,

I am new here and just need some reassurance.

25+1 weeks today and just been to the hospital for my FM check up. As baby was measuring small from my 20 weeks scan they have me back at the hospital every 1-2 weeks to monitor the growth.
AC is mearusing below 1% at 180 mm so Dr booked me in for another scan in 3 weeks times, however she said we might need to consider taking the baby out sooner sad if there is no growth on the AC.
Just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation? Worried mama to be here! x

Here!
we are together on this!

My baby was officially diagnosed with IUGR since week 20. At the beggining the consultant said that "if the baby manages to cope with the pregnancy" after 30 weeks we could then take her out with low risk of mortality and disabilities. Now we are finally in week 30!. As you can imagine, I cried and cried every day from week 22 to week 29 thinking that my baby wasn't going to make it. Now I'm in week 30 and I feel very very happy as I know that, if she comes now, there is a very high chance that everything is going to be okay. However, I am very confident we will manage to get until week 32 or more.
It is difficult, very difficult at the beginning, but if do some research of the outcomes from babies born after 30 weeks, you will feel more relieved to know that there is very high chance everything is going to be okay. It also has helped me to read other success stories of preterm babies and understand how babies are treated in the NICU. It sounds scary, very scary, but to be prepare for it helps a lot.
The most difficult part is to reach the 28 week. Once I was there, everything became very bright!
Remember that the baby feels everything that you feel. This is also an emotional challenge, but I guess it is part of become a mum.
I wish you success and please, keep posted!

Hi both

I am in the same boat. This is my 5th pregnancy and we had a private scan 4 weeks ago (16 weeks along). At that scan everything apart from the AC was average.

Today I had my 20 weeks scan, femer length was ok but the HC was only 15% and the AC is 7%. I've cried so much since I got back home. Tomorrow I have to see the specialists.

Difficult question but has anyone informed you whether this is likely to be ok for the baby? Will she just be small or will there be increased chances of problems developmentally?

My head is all over the place.
Xx

What is the abbreviation of AC and how much it should be , is there some reference range somewhere

So it's abdominal circumference, anything below 10% is too small and indicates growth problems.
