Hello,

So I have just learned that I am 5-6 weeks pregnant (yay) but I have no idea what I do next?

I can't really ask my friends as then they'll know I'm preg and I don't want to tell yet.

Do I have to contact a midwife? How does it work?

If you couldn't tell this is my first pregnancy!

Thanks in advance

Amy

Contact gp or midwife for your booking appointment, go chemist and ask for pregnancy vitamins if not already taking them.

Hi OP.

Congratulations!!

Assuming you're uk based? I looked on NHS website and it gave an email address for the local midwifery team. I emailed them and it sent an auto email back asking bits of information. They called me a few days later to confirm a date for my booking appointment which was done over the phone and then I was given a slot to go and have bloods/height/weight done a week later. From there I received my 12 week scan appointment and my midwife has just text me with a date for 16 week appointment.

In short, once you've contacted the local midwife team they'll guide you through it! I also had no idea! Hope that helps xx
