I’m 6 weeks pregnant and for 2 days I can’t warm up. Iv tried a bath, a shower, in the house Iv for my heating on all of the time and I’m in my dressing gown, when I go out I have been wearing 3 layers under my coat, my friends have said to me I look freezing and Iv said I am are you not and they said no it’s not too bad today, but I just feel so cold and I don’t know if it’s the time of year because this morning it was -3 degrees where I live but I keep getting shivers and goosebumps. Is this normal if you get pregnant this time of year?

Yea...pregnancy is crazy lol

FennecShandDoesEverything · 11/02/2022 21:47

Yes. I get that in the first trimester. It's annoying but harmless.

Just about any weird effect you can possibly imagine can be caused by pregnancy.

TaVeryMuchLove · 11/02/2022 21:48

I was constantly cold during the first trimester.

kitty1993 · 11/02/2022 21:52

I've had this as well... almost 11 weeks now and just about starting to warm up. It's really annoying and makes life so hard when all you want is to feel warm again. I found my hands and feet were the worst!

EllieJai44 · 11/02/2022 22:06

Yup, nearly 10 weeks here and been freezing since I found out! Can't get warm except for like 4am when I am a furnace! Haha

GLTM · 11/02/2022 22:07

Perhaps take your own temperature just to check what it is.

Blughbablugh · 11/02/2022 22:19

Yep I had this during the start of my last pregnancy. I just couldn't get warm, especially during the first trimester.

madeleine85 · 11/02/2022 22:25

This is unfortunately very normal. I’m always freezing in the first trimester of pregnancy and when breastfeeding. Grab a hot water bottle and a blanket!

Laureatus · 11/02/2022 23:16

I've had that this time (don't remember it with no1). I read that it could be a sign of anemia etc so I asked the midwives but they said if you continue to feel generally well it's. I thing to worry about: they said if you start to feel generally unwell then to contact them, but it's common to feel this way in early pregnancy as your body can't regulate its temperature in the way it usually does.

Feeling abnormally cold is how I realised I was pregnant, it’s a pregnancy symptom.

HalloHello · 11/02/2022 23:26

Yep I was around 8 weeks this time last year and was always freezing even with layers, heating, blankets etc. Cut to 18 weeks on I was BOILING and always furious about it 🤣

Nikki037297 · 12/02/2022 07:13

Thank you everyone I’m so pleased it’s normal as Google told me feeling hot was normal and if your cold it’s not “usually” a bad sign which made me worry lol I’m just one of those worriers lol

I've been absolutely freezing aswell! Also was googling as thought the standard thing was being hot, apparently not! Seems quite common. I've been in bed under the duvet shivering !!

Nikki037297 · 12/02/2022 11:50

I’m feeling extremely hot now lol this is insane

I always feel cold when I’m tired and fatigue in the first trimester is a killer. You’ll most likely find it passes by the second trimester. No one tells you about all the weird and wonderful (though mostly pretty unwonderful things that happen to your body when pregnant!)
