Advice on options - 40+ weeks induction

Hi all, sorry for the long post,

Hoping someone who knows more about hospital processes may be able to help me as I’m a bit stressed and confused at the moment.

I’m 40+3 today, FTM, went for a sweep on Wednesday at 40w exactly and was told they couldn’t do the sweep as cervix too far back, tightly closed and not effaced at all. I was already booked for an induction on Tuesday 15th as I’m extremely anxious about going further overdue (I know there are a lot of debates on here around induction risks vs risks of waiting, I have an anxiety disorder and am struggling more with the risks of going overdue so was recommended to book for 41w by the perinatal health team). The midwife effectively told me there was almost no chance of me going into labour ahead of the 15th, and that there was no point in me coming back for a second sweep or discussion around the balloon, it would need to be the pessary, which she added to the booking.

My dilemma is the midwife was also concerned around early signs of pre-eclampsia - my hands and feet are severely swollen, and while my BP wasn’t high enough for them to send me straight to hospital, it was significantly higher than previous readings during my pregnancy. Im obviously now even more concerned, and am struggling to understand why they would leave me until Tuesday to start induction if they have these concerns and see no chance of me going into labour naturally ahead of that?

I will be going into the hospital today as I’m getting pains below my ribcage which the midwife told me to look out for, but would really appreciate any advice on what my options could be once there - I feel like I’ll just be sent home again to wait and see if it gets any worse, which is causing me huge amounts of stress. Obviously I understand natural labour would be the best outcome but since this seems unlikely just wondering if anyone has any advice on if I have any other options such as crying begging politely discussing earlier induction.

Sorry again for the long post, thank you if you made it this far!

The midwife can't possibly know that you won't labour naturally before Tuesday.
But you can get your BP checked at the hospital today, and I would ask for another sweep whilst you're there today.
They may not be able to bring your induction forward without a strong medical reason (I couldn't even have mine the day it was booked for as they didn't have enough staff/space on the labour ward-luckily I went into natural labour on the next day).
