I went to EPU this morning because I’d had some pink spotting that had stopped and started for a couple of days.

Everything looked fine, I’m measuring later than I thought at 7+4 and there was a nice strong heartbeat. It was a transvaginal ultrasound and tbh I did find it very uncomfortable and sore. There was nothing on the scan to suggest why I had been spotting.

I came home over the moon then noticed I was bleeding, red blood. I rang EPU again who said a little spotting can be normal after an internal ultrasound.

This was about 5 hours ago and the bleeding is progressively getting worse like a period and I’ve got light cramps. I have also passed a very tiny clot. I rang EPU again and they said unless it’s really large clots then I just need to wait it out and see if it eases off and to give it two days. They also said it’s highly unlikely that the pregnancy has ended in the space of a few hours after a strong heartbeat was seen this morning.

What do I do? This is literally torture. I understand a bit of spotting but this is bright red blood on a sanitary towel. Anyone have any experience of this?

Hi, like the poster said on your other recent thread, it could be bleeding from an irritated cervix. It could, unfortunately also be the start of a miscarriage. There is really unfortunately nothing to be done right now. It's hard I know, but either the bleeding tapers off or it doesn't. Whichever way, you should be scanned again in a few days. But another scan right now wouldn't change any outcome.
