Breast pumps

Hi,

I want to try and breastfeed but I'm not putting too much pressure on myself. I don't know what people do in regards to a breast pump. Do you purchase one before baby or wait to see?

Also, any recommendations on what breast pumps are good would be helpful.

The tommee tippiee one worked for me. You could wait and see as it would arrive pretty quickly these days if you ordered online

I got a cheap one just in case, then when I decided I would be pumping regularly, i got one off amazon- next day delivery :)

I'd wait and see really. It would be a waste of money if there's a small chance breastfeeding doesn't work. Also, if you do breastfeed, baby will be wanting to feed lots and lots in the early days to build up supply so I found I didn't have much opportunity to pump anyway. If you do find you want to pump I'm sure you can get a pump online or from boots within 24 hours.

The manual pumps like TommeeTippee aren't expensive, nor are the Haakaa "pumps", they get so many good reviews
