Hello. I'm 31+3 weeks!

I went to my midwife for my 28 week checkup and my growth chart had jumped from 70 percentile to 90. (Im now 95 percentile) She said she's contacting the consultant for extra scans, I've been to the midwife again today for my 31 week check up who asked how it went with the consultant? I said I've not heard anything she then got on the phone and spoken to them who said I had slipped " threw the grid" she demanded an early appointment, so I'm booked in for Tuesday afternoon. At this point I'll be 32 weeks. How long after seeing the consultant did you wait for the scans? And what sort of things do they ask? I'm assuming there worried the baby is big?

They are going off my sons growth chat. He was 50 percentile the whole way threw the pregnancy and never moved, but this one is jumping up?

I’ve had lots of growth scans. Usually with a consultant who is also a sonographer but a couple of times I would see the sonographer and then be sent immediately to see the consultant. Obviously it depends on your trust but I don’t really see why they’d ask you to see a consultant before having a scan because the consultant won’t have the information to advise you…

I’m assuming the centile information you’ve been given is based on fundal height which is not always accurate.

Yes it is, thank you for your reply, I know they "guessed" with my first and said he was looking like a 9lb baby and came out 7.7! But this is the reason for the extra scans. I have no idea, I did mention was this appointment for a scan and she said no the consultant will book the scans? I'm so confused. I know family who had scans then seen the consultant, but mine is the other way around?

As a previous post says it depends on the nhs but with me my midwife measurement was completely incorrect. She phoned for me to get a scan and I was phoned within days. Now just waiting for the consultant appointment.
My 20 week scan was with a consultant sonographer so she was able to talk me through everything. I’d just keep on at the midwife as they are the ones who can sort it.

I got referred to consultant re growth aswell, had phone consultation last week to basically go over my history and why I had been referred, if I had questions/concerns. Next time is a scan followed by consultant, so could just be your local hospital procedure?

I had a consultant appointment first, mine was over the phone and then I was sent for scans and consultant appointment at the next clinic (I was scanned for a small baby)
