Has anyone tried the sneak peak early gender tests I'm very impatient but want to know how accurate they are

I’ll hopefully be able to tell you Friday. I tested male on sneakpeak and I’m waiting for my nipt test back which should confirm it. It feels very different to my last pregnancy and that was a girl so I think it’s right.

How many weeks was you when you took the test it says from 7 weeks but I'm unsure about if I should do it later on

@ajh04 hi OP I did the sneak peek at home snap test and results were boy, I had a gender scan yesterday and baby is definitely a girl. I live with my husband and 2 boys so sure it was contaminated. Apparently results are only 50% accurate when done at home... part of me wonders whether they are getting lots of contaminated specimens or just not even testing and guessing as the odds are good enough. You receive a full refund after baby is born when you provide birth certificate so I will be doing this. Good luck

The test is 99% accurate and those who got wrong results did it as soon as they hit 7 weeks out of excitement (too little fetal DNA in blood for accuracy) or didn’t sanitise the area so got male DNA from their OH or pets in the test kit.

I’m having a girl as sneak peek said- confirmed by NIPT and ultrasound now. I did mine at 9.5 weeks and made sure the area was sanitised.

So my NIPT results came back today, and it was male, so matches my sneakpeak done at 7 weeks. I'd say this is accurate :)

madeleine85 · 10/02/2022 20:43

oh also, to add I did the sneakpeak test which takes blood from your arm and is more reliable than the snap which you do the finger prick test. Also I hate finger prick tests in general, but worth mentioning the difference.

They work if you have your blood drawn by a professional and it's done at a lab. The at home ones are very prone to failure because as everyone else has said, it's so hard to make sure that no male DNA sneaks in there.

littlebabymum · 08/04/2022 15:01

Please don't waste your money on these! My result was boy and I had a little girl.

peppercorn15 · 08/04/2022 15:18

It was accurate for me at 9 weeks (using the finger blood test one) and confirmed at my 20 week scan as correct, but I suppose it is a 50/50 chance of being correct anyway ha!

I tested at 6 weeks got boy result had my 13 week scan everyone says it’s a girl. Gender scan tomorrow so we will see

Did anyone have two incorrect clinical sneak peeks, done one at 7 weeks (from LMP) and 7 weeks 1 day, both came back girl but I’m afraid to get my hopes up as I’ve had an incorrect girl result at 6 weeks in a previous pregnancy only to be told a week later it was a boy.

Floralsandsmiles · 13/03/2024 17:34

I had a clinical sneak peak test done by a midwife at 6 weeks and had girl, then had a private NIPT done and it come back as not enough cells at 10 weeks. I panicked that maybe that meant sneak peak could have been my own DNA as a default and I wasn't having a girl. So after my 12 week scan I had a repeat clinical sneak peak done and it was a girl again. I've since had all scans confirm.girl too. So it was right from 6 weeks 😊 xxx

KK2020 · 13/03/2024 21:02

I think the NIPT requires a lot more cfDNA than sneak peek but at 10 weeks it should have been sufficient did your dates line up with scan dates? As I was 100% sure of my dates on previous pregnancy but when I was scanned a week after my sneak peek I was only measuring 6weeks 4 days so means when I tested I was only 5w4d I really hope it’s not the case this time as I’ve yet to have a scan. I will confirm with NIPT some places offer it at 9 weeks but don’t know how accurate it will be for the other screenings.
