I'm 4+2 and started on a 7 day course of antibiotics yesterday afternoon.
Im weeing slightly less than I was yesterday, once an hour rather than every 20-30 minutes.
When will the pain get better?
I've had constant pelvic pain and urge to wee for 3 days, it's awful.
It's worse after I've had a wee. I have to go twice in the same trip otherwise I'll be going again 5 minutes later.

Hopeful bump.

I've been on antibiotics for 36 hours now. I'm peeing less but everytime i go the abdo pain gets worse and i have to pee again straight after. The pain is still there but not as severe.
Do I need to call the gp back or give it more time?

I'd call back. Shouldn't be that bad

Did they send a sample off to the lab? They often don't with the first round of infection and only when it doesn't respond to the first 7 days of antibiotics will they send a sample to the lab to find out which bacteria it is/which antibiotic will work best. Ring them and push for them to do this as this process takes a few days so that will be ontop of the 7 days if you wait

Yes I dropped a sample off on Monday as the nurse wanted to send one. It would have gone on Tuesdays collection so should have results tomorrow.

If you're on the right antibiotics then it should be feeling better by the end of today. If not then it's likely you need a different one, maybe cefalexin instead of nitrofurantoin.

I had one at around 22 weeks. Told the midwife the day I got symptoms and that I had a uti. Had to wait two weeks and with three urine samples before they said yes, you’re right, it’s a uti and have me antibiotics. They told me it was a yeast infection (so took treatment for that which made no difference) and that I had small kidney stones. But it was a uti all along. Thank goodness it didn’t get worse. Anyway, once I actually started antibiotics it felt better within two days I’d say, and no pain at all by day 5.
Really hope you get it sorted soon, UTI’s are bloody awful.
