Brown discharge for 2 days

Hi. I’m 7+1 and I’ve had brown discharge for 2 days in my underwear, only small amounts. It’s orangey brown and stringy and mixed it with normal white discharge (which I’ve been having loads of since finding out it pregnant). It seemed to disappear after a couple of hours yesterday but now it’s back and I’m worried. Anyone had this and everything ok? I have a private reassurance scan on Saturday.

Hi, I had this at 8 weeks exactly and I'm now 32 weeks. No explanation for it really from my midwife except that it was old blood making its way down. There's no harm in contacting your midwife to make them aware

I had this throughout the first trimester with my first and seem to be going the same way this time. I had scans at the epu and they couldn't see any sign of bleeding within the uterus so concluded it must come from the cervix. My first did end up being born early at 33 weeks, though I've no idea whether the bleeding was related. I'm currently 12+1 with number 2.

Personally I would contact your epu (or ring your GP for a referral). They'll be able to scan you and rule out anything too serious.
