Terrified of missed miscarriage

Hi. 9+2weeks pregnant, first pregnancy and very much wanted. We had a private scan at 8+1 and all was fine and seen heartbeat. However, I'm petrified of a missed miscarriage! Our dating scan letter came through today which is another 4 weeks away and I'm so scared they will say the baby has died. Have I gone mad?!

I'm just as frightened. There's another thread similar to this if you want to join? It's good to be here to huddle round and try to reassure one another.

Not at all, my dating scan is tomorrow and I had a total freakout this about the exact same thing. I really didn't anticipate how mentally challenging the first trimester can be, you're not alone in feeling scared.

Good luck for your scan! I'm trying to be excited but I agree, didn't realise how anxious I would feel x

I was terrified of this too as I've had one before. The relief at my dating scan was immense.

Hello. I feel exactly the same as you and I'm 9w3d. I had a private scan last weekend and have another on Monday along with the nipt

theotherfossilsister · 09/02/2022 10:09

I think it's called almost the same as this x

Yeah I feel the same. It feels so strange that you have to wait so long to know what's going on, it definitely adds stress.

I had an early scan due to spotting and saw a heartbeat, and even so I still feel like it's been such a long time and I do worry things may have changed since then as it will have been about 6 weeks since that first scan by the time I have the next one.

100% understandable! Pregnancy is a scary and exciting rollercoaster ride. Try and distract yourself as much as you can! Do something you love, meet up with friends, share how you feel with your other half, try and avoid reading too much as everyone has different experiences, book a trip away and keep positive. You have got this Smile

I think regardless if it's your first, second, third etc you always feel nervous. You will be a great mummy x
