Hi everyone,

I'm going to be moving from SE London (Lewisham) to Bromley (Petts Wood) area when I'm around 35 weeks pregnant, and am not sure whether to stick with giving birth at Lewisham Hospital or change to the PRUH?

I was induced first time around with DD (March 2020) at Lewisham Hospital and it took 4-5 days was pretty unpleasant, but at least I know what to expect.

Does anyone have any recent experience at PRUH to compare with? Any insight is very welcome!

Thanks :)

One would be a 30 minute drive, one would be a 10 minute drive,

My DD was born at the PRUH 17 years ago so no recent experience.

I see you hadn’t had a reply so wanted to say welcome to Petts Wood! Both are easy to get to as you have trains to Lewisham, the PRUH you have buses, parking is a nightmare.

I have no experience myself of PRUH but a friend who is 28weeks is booked in at PRUH as they are linked to Kings which is supposed to be very good (at least I hope so as thats where I'm going!).
My only experiences of Lewisham is in A&E, minor surgery and ultrasound for gall stones, were all very poor. Felt quite dirty, disorganised, lots of staff not wearing masks during height of Covid, and real lack of info.
I picked Kings over Lewisham even though its slightly further.
