AC circumference 20 week scan big

Hi,

Has anyone else had where their babys AC measurement has been really big? She's measuring small on everything but large on that. On 97th centile line but 3rd for everything else? Just abit worried? They didn't seem worried about it just commented on how her belly was big.

You might have gestational diabetes, a large abdominal circumference is a major indicator. Your midwife will probably book you in for a test if that's what they think

My second baby had this, a really big AC measurement and much more ‘standard’ other measurements. The difference between 3rd and 97th is quite a lot I guess, did they say anything? As pp said it could be an indicator of GD, but I didn’t get it and he arrived weighing a perfectly normal and healthy 7lb 14oz. Good luck and hope all goes ok.

I had this 3 weeks ago nothing was said at scan expect do you have GD test booked which i have then when I come out said AC measuring above 97th percentile on report. I spoke to my midwife about it she said don’t be to concerned about that measurement at 20 week scan they are still so small that them having a full tummy or bladder scan influence the result massively cause they are still working in millimetre at that point she said just carry on normal until GD tests say otherwise. I was panic stricken for a week and now I’ve calmed down I think it is what it is the chances are I don’t have GD In just having a big baby and weather I need inducing early or a c section as long as he gets here safe I don’t mind.
