Hi all,

I'm being induced a week tomorrow. I will be 38 weeks and 2 days! I have my midwife this Tuesday, I will be 37 weeks and 3 days. Will I be offered a sweep? Or will they not attempt sweep due only being in my 37th week? Also for those who did have a sweep at 37 weeks was it successful for you or a waste of time?

Also any induction stories at 38 weeks welcome. Im hoping it won't take too long! I was induced at 39 + 4 with my son and it took 3 days to have him! ❤️

I was booked in to be induced at 38+6 so a few days later than you due to low volume of waters. I had a sweep 5 days before my induction date as the midwife told me it would make me more favourable for induction.

It went: sweep Thursday afternoon; mucus plug went Friday evening; waters went Sunday afternoon. Labour didn’t start so induced a day earlier than planned, pessary in at 12pm, in labour around 2pm ish baby born half 5.

Good luck!

Oh wow! So the sweep definitely seemed to be favourable for you! I'm really hoping she tries to do one. Thank you!!!! I'm hoping all goes quickly. I'm being induced on valentines day and DP's heart is set on baby girl being born then 😂♥️

Thank you so much for you response
I appreciate it ❤️

I was induced at 38 weeks due to IUGR. First pessary at 11.30am, second one at 5.30pm, nothing happened for a while then baby born at 9.30pm after a very very speedy labour! Good luck!

I was induced twice at 39+ weeks.
First took 30 hours from start till end and the second took 12 hours from start to end with pushimg phase of 15 mins.

I hope it goes this fast for you too this time round x

I was induced at 39 weeks due to reduced movements. I went in Friday and was induced at 2pm giving birth on Sunday at 5.40pm. The only reason for this was no bed on the delivery suite
I had a wonderful experience

I was induced at 38 weeks with my first had a sweep at 37+3 by a consultant who said I wouldn't make it to the induction, I did how ever but she was born not even 24 hours from arriving at the hospital !
