I got it really bad in my first trimester. Would have a cup of hot water just under me at al times and would have a humidifer going in the room where I worked with tea tree and eucalyptus and that definitely helped !. Hope that helps x

Have you tried nasal irrigation with saline ? I had rhinitis in both pregnancies and it helped me. Also drinking more water. Maybe cut out dairy? I'm sure I read that somewhere .....

I ended up using mometasone (steroid) spray. I couldn’t stop coughing from it. It acts locally so very unlikely to reach baby, and steroids for asthma sufferers are well researched and safe in pregnancy.

Staying overly hydrated also helps a lot in thinning the mucus.

Thank you

@hassletassle I got a sterimar yesterday on the pharmacists recommendation but it’s not helped I’ll look at the nasal irrigation.

@Porridgeislife did you just buy that yourself or did the GP recommend?
I’m definitely on the water and lots of it although trips to the bathroom are about very 30mins 🤣

@Maighread thank you, I’ve messaged DP to get the humidifier out the garage, fingers crossed it helps.

@Samthenanny the brand I use (Nasonex) is prescription as I’ve been using it for a long time for allergies, but it’s now available otc as Clarinaze Allergy Spray.

I can’t over emphasise how important it is to drink loads of water, it helps so much. I notice if I don’t get at least 2 - 3L a day.

Beconase nasal spray, you can buy it in the hayfever section of most pharmacies and supermarkets. It does contain some steroids, my GP recommended it

@Porridgeislife thank you, I’ll grab some today.
