Not pregnant at the moment, but I and most women I work with have worked as far up to the date as possible. I went into labour at work at 37 weeks with my eldest, was planning to work to 39 weeks which was also the start of the summer holidays.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 06/02/2022 22:10

I managed 36 weeks last time. Wanted 38 but 60 hour weeks covering staff absences as well as my son job nearly finished me off

MyloC · 06/02/2022 22:21

I worked until 38 weeks last time as that's when summer holidays fell. I'm thinking maybe 37 weeks this time just to catch up on the naps I can't have during this pregnancy due to DC1 Grin

Disgruntledpelicanlady · 06/02/2022 22:57

I will be 36 weeks and 5 days when we break up for summer hols so I'm hoping to get to that!

Hercisback · 06/02/2022 22:58

38 weeks

Started mat leave at 39+1. Went back for the first week of the autumn term (2020) and gave birth 10 days later.

All being well I'll be 37 weeks exactly for Sept INSET so I'll probably do those x 2 then go swanning off 😂

DockOTheBay · 07/02/2022 19:02

I went to 37 weeks.

Week 35 was half term.
Week 36 was handover to my (awful) maternity cover. So really I finished any actual teaching at 35 weeks.

Baby was born exactly 1 Week after I finished so good job I didn't hold out longer!

Thats good planning!

@Frankincense88

Ha, I did that twice! Was perfect, then go back the last week before summer holiday!

itssquidstella · 07/02/2022 19:11

I’m planning to go off at 39+5 but realise I may not make it quite that far! We get pretty poor maternity pay though, so I want to hold off as long as I possibly can.

Frankincense88 · 07/02/2022 19:12

@OnceuponaRainbow18 that's my plan haha or potentially go back first day of May half term then do 6 weeks when Y11 have left so timetables are lighter 😂

mrkb · 07/02/2022 19:17

I'm planning on going as far as I can. Half term starts at the end of week 39 and my due date is the Sunday before going back - I feel like it would be a waste of my EMP to plan to leave early if I make it that far when I'd be paid over HT anyway!
