Milk and rennies on tap! 😣

Gaviscon the peppermint liquid and if it gets really bad get omeprazole from your doctor. Also try to eat dinner early and not lie down for a couple of hours after. No late night snacks!

I suffered with this really early, from about 16 weeks I'm not 31 weeks, and have just been given omeprazole by my doctors. Didn't even know this existed! I've been drinking milk constantly at night! This is a godsend! I've had it for three days and not one little bit of heartburn

@smileyplant no snacks!!! What???? 😂 baby girl wants snacks on tap.

@mammaaa I have gone from having serve morning sickness to heartburn and acid reflux I maybe had 2 weeks where I felt normal. 😂 I will give this a go tho.

That's what mine was like😩 I was waking up with it, couldn't lie down as it got worse,
Would drink a glass of milk and try to go to sleep as fast as I could, I've had three days with no heartburn so ring the doctors first thing in the morning and get yourself some 🙌🏽

Gaviscone chewable tablets are my favourite thing in the world at the moment. Buy in bulk on Amazon!

nicolemercedes · 06/02/2022 19:22

@mammaaa my doctors are a joke at the minuet but I have midwife on Wednesday so will drink milk and pray!

My reflux is unreal !! I'm so with you !! as soon as I've had my cold glass of water it's like an invitation to set my insides on fire.
my consultant recommended peptic acid which is like gaviscon but so much more effective for me.
I've spotted one of my triggers is bread so I'm cutting that out and it's helping a bit but love a 2am toast when baby is hungry

delilahbucket · 06/02/2022 22:34

I guzzled gaviscon constantly. Peptac is the none branded version if you're paying for it, otherwise prescription. Avoid acidic foods if you can and bread can be one of the worst triggers. Don't eat late at night. Milk can help with temporary relief, but it's really temporary and can make things worse. Apparently it means your baby will be born with hair. Mine was 😁

Omeprazole - get it prescribed. I had awful heartburn and acid reflux from 16 weeks. Was mainlining Rennies, Gaviscon and milk until 30 weeks and couldn’t put up with it anymore. My consultant prescribed Omeprazole and I’m like a new woman, wish I’d taken them sooner.

LabRat90 · 06/02/2022 22:39

Omeprazole!

I was guzzling gaviscon and the GP said they wouldn't give me anything else. Saw a lot of people suggesting omeprazole so got some prescribed through an online prescription and it saved my life (and gaviscon cash fund) 😂

PinkButtercups · 06/02/2022 22:40

I had severe heartburn and didn't take anything. I wish I did!

The pain was real 🤣.

Dipsydoodlenoodle · 06/02/2022 22:57

Peptac helped me. I swear it was about 50% of my diet. You can buy it for a couple of pound from a pharmacy

jolota · 06/02/2022 23:02

Also recommending omeprazole, I found rennies & gaviscon barely touched my heartburn and I tried everything in terms of tracking foods, small meals, not eating past 6pm, sleeping slightly raised and nothing helped. Omeprazole was a life saver.
