Pre term labour or not?

Ladies advice please.. I’m 32 weeks, gestational diabetes insulin controlled. For the last few days I’ve felt really sore almost bruised down below, today it feels like I’ve been hit with a bat and I’m struggling walking around. I’ve had no pains/contractions etc. Did have a slight bit of white discharge the other day but nothing alarming.

I’ve just rang up triage now, midwife asked how many pregnancies I’ve had, this will be my third to term.. (two early losses also). Midwife asked if I’d had previous section as that’s a risk factor mine was 8 years ago though? And also GD early risk factor for preterm. Midwife advised happy for me to come up and get checked out or see how I go at home for now but any pains etc come straight up.

I’m just bit hesistant going up unnecessary just with Covid going around and trying my best to avoid it.

Does this sound like something that could be connected to previous section or just one of them things in late pregnancy or pre term labour. Just bit confused what to do for best .. xxx

If you’re ever worried about pre term labour please go get it checked out. I say this as someone who did have it at 32 weeks, waited to go as I didn’t want to seem ocd/crazy and spent 3 weeks in/out of hospital, birth at 34-35 weeks and a premie in the nicu for weeks which was utter misery I wouldn’t wish on anyone. As much as we want them out as early as possible/think it’s safe after 30 weeks, it’s not. Please make sure that little one stays put and get all the checkups you need to keep your mind at rest x

Did you have the bruised pain down below?

Definitely worth getting checked out but it might just be that baby has really moved down and the head is engaged / low now? With my second I felt like the head was right in my groin for the last few weeks of pregnancy and it did feel sore. Went into labour at 39 weeks but the head had felt very low for a few weeks before that. However it’s never a waste of time to get checked out if you’re worried.

I went into labour spontaneously at 33 weeks and had no pain down below at all. Aches and pains are common in the third trimester so if it was pain alone I probably wouldn't panic.

I would go and get checked though just for peace of mind. Assuming you are fully jabbed / boostered the covid risk is minimal.

It sounds more like the babies just moved down but if your ever worried best to go and get checked op xx

I really don’t know what to think, they said the baby’s breech and it’ll be pressure. My internal hurt like hell and they said im red raw inside and more than likely thrush. But I have no symptoms of thrush? No discharge or itch? And I’ve never known thrush to make you feel bruised. Popped me on monitor and said seems ok and I can go back in a few days for another monitor if I need too. Worried still Confused

Is it down below as in vaginal pain or pubic bone pain? Could it be spd?

XBek1989 · 07/02/2022 15:01

Just vagina pain really it really feels like I’ve banged myself or had rough sex, neither of which I have. Confused

Thrush can definitely just feel sore without the itch or discharge so worth trying a treatment for that and seeing if it improves? It won’t do any harm anyway! Did they give you anything for it?

XBek1989 · 07/02/2022 21:12

@Hadenough21 thanks that’s reassuring.. a pessary and cream for bed . I’d try anything right now x

Fingers crossed! I’ve had thrush quite a few times and sometimes it’s been itchy and other times just sore. Never had much discharge with it. Plus pregnancy is just weird! Hope it settles down
