Stretch marks 2nd pregnancy

I am generally fit and healthy and size 10

During my 1st pregnancy I didn't get any stretch marks at all (used coconut oil every day )

I am currently 22 weeks with my 2nd and I have noticed a few stretch marks on my boobs (theu are clearly much bigger tha usual ) which I am really upset about! Which I know is very selfish

I am very self conscious of my body and paranoid about how I look

Does this mean I will definitely get them on my belly? My bumps isn't overly big at the moment and some people don't even notice I'm pregnant until I tell them

I developed stretch marks on my thighs during puberty, which are not very visible now

Feel awful for being so worried about something that is so common i pregnancy!! I just assumed as I didn't get them 1st time I wouldn't this time either 😥

Your body changing is hard. I'm sure some people will give you an eye roll here but if it bothers you it bothers you. I have been using the clarins stretch mark oil this times, currently 21 weeks and it has all but got rid of my stretch marks from previous pregnancy and I've got no new ones. It's £40 a bottle but will likely last the entire pregnancy, and it's just bloody lovely stuff regardless. If you can afford that price point I definitely recommend it. I noticed a marked improvement 💓

@BabyB19 thank you for your positive and kind comment 🙂 I will look into that oil

You are more likely to get stretch marks in subsequent pregnancies purely because you're that little bit older and your skin is therefore less elastic.

As far as I know there's no evidence that any oils or creams work and it's really just down to a combination of age, genetics and overall skin health.

I had no coloured stretch marks in my first pregnancy but you could see marks that were skin coloured once my tummy shrank back. I am now 40weeks pregnant and have quite a few this time which are purple/red - nothing like I've seen some people have but certainly very noticeable for me. I moisturised religiously in both pregnancies and also got the Elemis oil for stretch marks but nothing has prevented it this time round. They will fade over time and this was an IVF pregnancy so I'm just glad it worked!
