Bath after c section?

DD will be 5 weeks old tomorrow, so far I have stuck to showers, but I am desperate for a relaxing bath … any idea if I will be ok to have a bath now? Everything seems to be healing fine, it isn’t a question I asked and the recovery leaflet given to me at the hospital doesn’t mention when it is safe.

I had a bath about 3 weeks after my section with my nannas cure all of a cap full of dettol in it and was fine.
I've had a fair few abdo surgeries and I've always used a capful of dettol in the water and I've never had a wound infection so I stuck with it despite the fact it's hideously old fashioned.

I had a bath a few days after my section, the midwife said it was ok. I also showered the wound twice a day and had no issues 🙂

Same as @McHelenz I had a waterproof dressing and was told it was fine to bath and shower. That came off after 7-10'days so I can't see an issue past that, just dry the area well.

Midwife told me I could bath the day I got home which was 2 days post section (with no bubble bath) but I did wait about a week

It's fine to have a bath after c/section. The issue is about mobility and being able to get in and out of the bath. Also in the early days would advise not to stay in the bath for too long but otherwise all good. Would suggest teatree and lavender essential oils
