Lower back contractions

Hi ladies I'm 39 weeks tomorrow & suddenly experiencing contractions in my lower back and till the thighs.

My mucus hasn't released & nor have my waters. Baby's in head down position and I've got an anterior placenta.

Has anyone experienced these severe pains in lower back?

I had them with my first. Baby was back to back. They're the worst. Get some painkillers if you can.

I never lost my plug and waters didn't break until a couple of hours before baby was born, both times.
In fact I don't even remember them breaking with number 2.

My contractions started in my back and then slowly worked round to the front also so I felt it in both with lots of pressure in my bum.
Like previous poster I never lost my mucus plug or waters before contractions. My mucus plug was slowly coming away when I was nearly fully dilated, and my waters went just before I was ready to push!

How long did you wait until going in,

Until your contractions are roughly a minute long and you’re having 3 in 10 minutes. I had an app called Freya where I timed the contractions and it told me when I was in established labour so I phoned the MIdwfiery unit then :) good luck!

I haven't sat down in hours now.. it's extremely painful 😢
