Pregnant after taking morning after pill thinking of abortion

Hi,

So I have just found out I am pregnant even though I took the morning after pill.

I am 34, married with two children 6 & 9 and everything is great right now. Neither me or my husband want another one, he is currently waiting for his appointment to have the snip as I have had continuous problems with Contraception.
I love babies and seeing them make me broody, I just don't think I can go through it all over again but I am also so scared I will regret it if I have a termination.

I have been looking into getting the Abortion pill but reading everything about it, it scares me.
Anyone taken the Medical Abortion before? How was it? How was you afterwards?

I’ve not taken it for an abortion but I’ve had it for a managed miscarriage which is basically the same thing. Twice in fact. The first time was rough but the second time after I’d already given birth was basically fine. I did need painkillers for a few hours and couldn’t be far from a toilet but it was over quickly and easily managed at home. Whatever you decide, good luck.

Hello, I have been in a very similar situation to you very recently, I have two children 7 and 3 and my partner is due to get the snip soon but after being very careful we got a bit drunk over the Christmas period which ended up in me being pregnant, we’ve always said we don’t want anymore kids and we get married in less than 2 months, I knew straight away I would have a termination so I called up BPAS the next day and I had to wait over 2 weeks for a consultation with a midwife (id just like to add this wasnt to discuss options) the phone call was about 30 minutes of them asking everything medically, to make sure I was certain this is what I wanted and they did ask my reasons why, they also done a medical assessment to see if I was okay for the pills by post but they did give me the option to go to a clinic if I wanted, they then said they would post the pills out they came the next day I took the first pills a couple of hours later, I felt fine all day, the next morning I felt a bit weak and dizzy then 24 hours after the first pill I inserted 4 tablets and I started bleeding about 2 and a half hours later, had a fair bit of cramping on and off for about an hour, I would say it was nothing more than a bad period a hot water bottle and ibruprofen helped, bleeding was very heavy for a few hours with lots of clots so I made sure I was close to a toilet, I am now 4 days after inserting the pills and I’m still bleeding but it’s just like a period now and I haven’t had any cramping since. I was also very scared I had to really prepare myself I was shaking before inserting the tablets I thought I was going to be in agony but it really wasn’t bad at all. Emotionally I feel awful but I know I made the right decision for my family, as the post above says I also had the same for a miscarriage a few years ago and my miscarriage was a lot more painful but I think that could be down to i was 14 weeks pregnant then and this time I was 6 weeks and 3 days (I was 4 weeks when I called them so it did take a couple of weeks to get it started but I think it depends on your area) sorry if this post is all over the place I’m still going through it now but I hope it’s put your mind at ease if you do decide to have a termination x
