Are movements and kicks the same

Are kicks and baby sticking body parts out side of belly considered the same, I mostly had kicks and hard spots on belly but this past days it's just been changes in positions of the hard spots, should I be worried or is it ok as long as I feel the changes in where hard spots are, hope this makes sense, currently 31 weeks

If you’re worried about any change in movements then give your midwife team a call. Don’t worry at all about ‘bothering’ them.

To me a movement is any movement. Kicks are the type of movement easiest to feel usually but when my baby is doing that alien thing and making my bump move as if they want to burst right out, I would count that as movement.

See here for a description of what counts as a movement:

Only thing I think you have not to count is hiccups.

But as pp said speak to your midwife/triage line if you are concerned about a change in movements.

Yes its all movement. Movement is the baby moving. Depending on position and size baby might start to find it harder to give big kicks the further along you are as there is less space to move freely.

If you're unsure if it is a change in movement OP then please call your maternity triage number and get checked out. It's much safer for you and baby than relying on the input of strangers on MN.
