Pregnant 3+ on clear blue at only 16dpo: twins??

Last night at 16dpo I tested with a clear blue and it came back positive 3+. My lines are as dark as can be, my morning sickness is in full swing already. My other pregnancies were never this full on at this stage I was never sick until 6 weeks, I’m 4weeks and 3days. Has anyone had twins and their pregnancy start like this where things just happen much quicker than a singleton pregnancy?

If you're absolutely sure of when you ovulated, it could be an early sign of twins as HCG levels can be 30-50% higher with multiples. However, the range of the clear blue tests is so broad that it would be slightly unusual for it to read so high so early. It is also worth noting that there are other reasons for v high HCG and these absolutely need to be ruled out if you really are experiencing remarkably high HCG levels.

That said, I did have a pregnancy that was a v v strong positive at 11dpo (and sex only once 11 days previously so it couldn't have been more than 11dpo) and I vomited copiously from 13dpo until 20 weeks. It was a healthy singleton pregnancy.

What was the gender of your baby?

I had worse morning sickness with my single pregnancy than twin pregnancy initially. I had sickness from 10-12dpo with my single pregnancy. Whereas my twin pregnancy was easier initially. When I found out it was twins at 7 weeks I actually said I was amazed as felt less sick/unwell than with my previous pregnancy. Unfortunately it then kicked in big time!

In terms of pregnancy test lines I don't think there was much difference between a single pregnancy or twin. Both were really obvious at 11dpo. But never used a weeks indicator with either pregancy. I can't really tell you that either pregancy was obvious that they were single or twin. I think you just have to wait to see!

Hi @Nikki037297 , what was the outcome? I'm having this exact same issue now! No early scan planned though

Out of interest, I searched and the op had a singleton pregnancy I think.

Thank you! I didn't even know you could do that on the app

I had 3+ at 13dpo and it was twins indeed

My twin pregnancy was as you described. I also had a proper bump by 11 weeks, so was not atall surprised at the scan when they said there were 2.
