I'm really self conscious about my weight and body , I can't remember how much i put I'm 1st pregnancy but i do remember o last a lot of it straight away which was great

I was really sick at the beginning so I didn't gain much, but just weighed myself and was horrified to see I've nearly gained a stone

I've been eating Healty and exercising , so I'm really paranoid about this 😥😥 i don't look like I've put on weight anywhere else , but is this normal??

I don't know if it's normal but I’m 24 weeks and have gained over a stone! My arms and legs are still thin so it's all gone on my stomach. I’m trying not to worry about it too much; I went in for reduced movements a few days ago and baby looked fine and I had a normal amount of amniotic fluid so I think I’ve just popped.

@itssquidstella thank you this has made me feel a bit better

When I was pregnant first time round I didn't have seales in the house, which I think was probably a good thing! I should just get rid of them till after to be honest 🤦‍♀️

That's normal. Most women put on around two stone over the course of pregnancy. If you aren't putting on weight then that could be worrying.
It's the increased amount of blood, the amniotic fluid, placenta etc...

Don't worry about it.

I am 28 weeks and have gained 1st 4lb. A stone of that went on between weeks 17-23! I found that rapid gain so hard to cope with. I am still running 5ks, walk dogs every day for at least an hour and do other active stuff too so it seemed so alien and wrong to me to be gaining weight so quickly like that. My midwife said every woman gains at different speeds and it’s actually quite rare for it to happen slow and steady like websites tell you it will 😬 I know it’s hard (I have a history of body dysmorphia and am really struggling with pregnancy) but we will be okay Flowers

Thank you all

@WorryMcGee yes I think it's the fact it was such a big amount in such a small amount of time that shocked me! But I suppose as I was so sick at the beginning I'm making up for it now . Feel so selfish for worrying about my weight and how I look when I'm doing something amazing ans growing a human! But it really can impact mentally. Wishing you all the best!

I gain most of my weight in 2nd trimester, then just the baby incremental amount in 3rd trimester 🤷 Had gained about 2/2.5 stone by start of 3rd trimester i think....but you honestly wouldn't really know, so it's honestly all relative.
It also depends on your starting weight too. I am naturally really skinny so put on LOADS on my bum and thighs even when i have been eating well, it's your body's way of storing fat for breast feeding.

Of course it is! You've got the baby, the placenta, the water and then a slight amount of actual weight your body is storing because your pregnant and you need it

When I was pregnant with my first id gained 3st by 24 weeks Blush

But then by the time I had my 3rd I was so stressed and rundown I literally gained 3lb the entire pregnancy

1st is only 13 or 14lb OP. Your baby is roughly 1.5lb at this stage, the placenta will be around the same, add on a few lb of water too and you've actually barely gained anything

Try not to worry about your weight whilst pregnant, if it was an issue your midwife woyld very gently mention it ( and be on the look out for somthing being wrong ) your fine, don't worry x

I've nearly gained 1 stone too and it's shocking me. I'm second trimester.

Thatsplentyjack · 02/02/2022 13:39

I've no idea how much I weight with my first and second but by the time I had my third I was 4 stone heavier. She was 10lb 6oz, so after I lost all the fluid etc I was 2 stone heavier 🤷‍♀️ she 1 today and I've lost the extra weight and a little bit more so I wouldn't worry too much. Stop obsessing.
