So I've just tested positive for Covid and I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Doctor has prescribed me with Clexane injections as I'm more at risk of blood clots due to being over 35, fifth baby and obviously the Covid. Just wondering what anyone else's experience of these are? Slightly worried about injecting into my tummy when there's a baby in there..

They're a subcutaneous injection so it just goes into the top layer of fat, however I imagine you are worried as it will be hard to pinch fat on a big bump, are you allowed to inject them into the fat on your thighs if your worried? X

I don't know! The instructions clearly say they have to go into the tummy??

I injected clexane all through both pregnancies and it is fine. It does get hard to pinch a bit of skin to jab it into but it shouldn’t be an issue. They sting though and can bruise but it’s nothing to worry about, just a bit unpleasant!

I had clexine injections for another issue at 32 weeks and was told to do them in my thigh.
I would ask again about it.
