ECG results, please settle my mind!

So a bit of a back story, I had a bit of a fast heart rate especially after eating a few weeks ago. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant and have been feeling fine for the last few weeks.

I had an ECG and a blood test done last week and the doctor rang me today to say all of the results are completely normal.

He then casually said that the only thing that showed on the ECG was a minor prolonged QT interval but he said this is very common and nothing to be worried about.

Curiosity got the better of me so I googled it and now I'm convinced I'm about to suddenly drop dead from a cardiac arrest 🥲 he hasn't referred me for any further testing he just said it all looks fine but when you google prolonged QT interval it seems to think otherwise!

Please help me settle my mind! Has anyone else had something like this show up on an ECG? Should I be worried about this? Thanks!

I had a similar thing with fast heart rate. I went to midwife unit, had ECG show OK but something not 100%. Blood work all fine.

They sent my ECG to a cardiologist and the consultant asked for a 24hr ECG. The results of that were similar (sometimes my bottom ventricle skips a beat) and they've booked me in for an echo.

Tbh my doctor said she isn't worried and I'm not worried! I'm fairly certain it's always been there. I do HIIT training and run long distances, if it was gonna be a problem I'd know by now!

I'm not telling you this to make you feel like you should have extra tests but rather this is my experience and if there was a reason to be concerned I'm sure they'd not skimp on follow up tests (I'm perfectly fine now, I just had a virus that made my heart work extra hard!)!

My only advice would be if you are concerned call your midwife and share the ECG results with them. They'll know whether or not to share with your consultant but I'm sure the GP has already considered your pregnancy!!
