Covid during pregnancy

Hi all,

I’ve just tested positive for covid and I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant. I’ve had my booster jab and so far it’s just felt like a cold, but naturally I’m still a bit worried. Has anyone else had covid in pregnancy and if so what stage were you at and had you been vaccinated?

Hi, i caught covid just before New Year's Eve, I'm 18 weeks now so was about 14 weeks then. I'm double jabbed but no booster, last jab was august.
I recovered in about 5/6 days and symptoms didn't get worse than a bad cold. The most annoying thing was my sinuses were so blocked! Had the worst headaches from it and would usually dose up on Sudafed and beechams etc but non of them suitable when pregnant. I just kept topped up on paracetamol and hot honey and lemon drinks.

Had my 16 week appointment since then and all healthy, no effect on the baby or pregnancy.

You'll be fine, hope you're symptoms don't get too bad. Good luck xx

Hi @lucyinthe thank you, that’s so reassuring! No headache so far just like you said a runny/blocked nose so haven’t been able to sleep as much as I’d like. Glad your bubba is all good xx

I’m 31 weeks and tested positive 10 days ago. I was boosted in December (obvs fully vaccinated). I spoke to midwife and went on the virtual Covid ward ( so was given an oximeter and asked to report levels). I think this might be because it was the third trimester.
Symptoms weren’t great first two days (fever, chills) but I’ve recovered pretty quickly after and have never felt breathless.
I actually think the realisation of having Covid is worse than the reality in many cases.
I’m absolutely sure you’ll be fine!

I currently have Covid at 37 weeks pregnant. I'm triple vaccinated and I've been alright bar exhaustion, head cold and some vomitting.

Because of where I am at and my BMI I've been prescribed blood thinners but other than that I'm ok and nothing different.

@Kitte321 @McHelenz thanks for sharing and glad you are both recovering well. Like you said I think the fear of catching it is worse than when you have it, at least now I know. It’s definitely made me happy I got the vaccine and booster. I might’ve been fine anyway but wouldn’t have wanted to take any chances.

I also currently have it (on day 4) and i'm 29 weeks pregnant. Been put on the "Covid spreadsheet" for midwife to check in - but no check ins so far!! Apparently I don't need blood thinners as low risk but was just told to watch out for the danger signs ... breathlessness/hot swollen leg etc. i'm double jabbed (was due booster next week!) and I feel rough but mostly like a really bad cold. X

Thanks @NinaJames hope you feel better soon! X
