Slow hcg/line progression and still pregnant?

When I usually see these posts it makes me sad because it's like you know it it's not happening but trying to find hope out there!

Anywya here I am asking for positive stories of lines that weren't progressing that well but did not mean MC...

Thank you!

How do you know that you have slow rising HCG? Have you had blood work done? That is really the only way to know your HCG level. I would suggest getting blood work done (testing every 48 hours to make sure it is doubling). For what its worth, I didn't have the dye stealer pregnancy test with my current pregnancy, and was worried as my line wasn't really progressing. Well, the HCG blood test showed that it is a viable pregnancy and I am currently in my second trimester with a very healthy baby.

Good Luck!

Congratulations! Thank tou for sharing.
I haven't had blood tests and can't really get any right now.
Just based on the pregnancy tests I can the line is very slow to darken and today was bit lighter.
A line not really progressing in the past ended in MC and my strong line with clear progression in my baby.
I know it's not accurate and every pregnancy is different but not knowing is making me a bit miserable as I would love for this pregnancy to work out :(

Please stop testing. I had a miscarriage in November and all my tests were proper dye stealers, and at that point my baby had died, I just don't know it yet. My blood work was also through the roof, way higher than they'd expect apparently.
The nurses told me do not take any notice of tests as all they're doing is telling you you are pregnant, not how pregnant you are.

How far along are you? I would suggest booking a viability scan from 7 weeks as that would be more reassuring than tests?
I do feel for you as I know that feeling and there is nothing like it 🙁

rosewater20 · 31/01/2022 07:22

I don't want to give false reassurance but I did have a test that lightened and it completely set me off in a spiral of worry. Luckily, I had a viability test the next day (around 6.5 weeks) and all was well. But it was a lesson not to read too much into the tests.

With my first baby, my test were all dye stealers and took only a second or two to appear but with this pregnancy it would take the full three minutes to show even a hint of a line and yet this is a healthy pregnancy too.

How far along do you think you are?

Stop testing. They're not medical tools to monitor that stuff.

SunnySideUp2020 · 31/01/2022 08:02

Not sure how far along I am as I am breastfeeding and have irregular very long cycles. I assumed I was 12 dpo today but DH correctly pointed out I actually dont know!

Thank you for all your comments though.
It gives me a little hope and it is just comforting overall.

Ah okay, sounds like it could be very early days then. I would stop testing, and maybe go for an early ultrasound when you can?

SunnySideUp2020 · 21/02/2022 13:10

Just to update, I had a scan today and I am about 8 weeks pregnant with a strong heartbeat. I did tests again recently which show a fainter line but clearly it meant nothing!
All looks good 👍

Oh wow - I am going through this atm. My lines just don't seem to be darkening. Im having a blood test tomorrow and your post has given me hope! :) do you have a picture of how light your lines were?

SunnySideUp2020 · 02/11/2022 20:35

@Cat345 my phone has gone through factory reset few months back so I lost all my pics.

But show me your lines I will tell you if it was similar.

I was really worried btw but i gave birth 3 weeks ago to a big healthy baby girl...so there is hope ❤️

I know it's an older post but I would like to share my experience with Pregmate tests. I got a very faint positive at 8DPO however, the tests were from an older batch. I only had a couple left so I ordered a 100 more. The tests were progressing ok till about 15DPO. My hCg was 280 at 13 DPO, 820 at 15 DPO and 6887 at 19 DPO so I stopped testing for a few days. I did test again today at 26 DPO just out of curiosity and also hoping for that dye stealer. And to my shock the line was much lighter than at 15 DPO. I took 4 tests from the same pee and each of them turned out different but super light. Freaked out I called my OB office and requested a blood test. And guess what ??? My hCg is at 53939 today! I also took a Clearblue and got a nice dye stealer! So if you are using cheapies and your line is not progressing, do not freak out. Try better tests or go for a blood test (the best way to know what's going on with hCg!) but don't automatically assume you are having a miscarriage.

Hi all - I know this is an old post but just wondering how you're getting on.

I have had 2 embryo transfers and should be testing on Sunday but eager beaver me tested on Wednesday 8DP5DT which would be 13DPO and it was negative.

I'm just wondering if anyone had a late positive result?

Thanks!
