This is a dumb sex question but can you get pregnant without having my period. I am 6 weeks PP and haven’t started my period again but am curious if I have sex if I should be worried about getting pregnant again.

Yes you can get pregnant from 3 weeks pp, even if you haven't had your period. Although it's still normal to not have your period at 6 weeks pp

Yes, ovulation happens before a period.

Yes ovulation triggers the period not the reverse.

I've a number of friends and relatives with less than 6 week gap between baby 1 birth and baby 2 conception!

Breastfeeding isn't a contraceptive either

Unless you want a very close age gap use proper contraception

Yes

I think a simple google could have answered you that.

Or contraception

You are extra fertile just after giving birth. Didn’t your health visitor or midwife talk to you about contraception after you gave birth?

SingingSands · 01/02/2022 15:58

Yes. My colleague was pregnant again at her six week check up. Shock

Moonshine160 · 01/02/2022 16:17

Yes you could get pregnant as you could ovulate at any time. Ovulation will then trigger your first period. As a PP has said, you are very fertile after having a baby.

I was EBF and fell pregnant when my daughter was 8 weeks old. If you don't want another just yet I'd advise using contraception
