Missed miscarriage and wrong dates?

Hi, I’m meant to be 8 weeks but I went for an early scan and they could only see the sac and said it didn’t look promising. I then went to EPU for an internal scan and was told I look 5 weeks, they could see a yolk sac and fetal pole. They can’t confirm it’s a missed miscarriage and baby stopped growing at 5 weeks until my second scan. I’m very regular so my dates should be correct but I did have a miscarriage in November so my ovulation might have been slightly later but not this out. The last possible conceived date would be 5 weeks ago which was 2 days before my missed period. Has anyone had similar experiences please?

@Marie1479 I am very sorry you are going through this. It is devastating 😢 I had a MMC back in May. Found out at almost 9 weeks that pregnancy has stopped at 5+6, but in my case I was very sure of my dates as I was controlling ovulation.

I’m so sorry to hear you went through that. Did you still have all the pregnancy symptoms? I’m wondering when mine will stop. I wasn’t sure when I ovulated but I did think even if I ovulated 2 days before my period was due that would make me exactly 5 weeks and I think the scans that show 5 weeks means 3 weeks which is impossible if that’s how it works. X

Hi there hope you are alright. I am going through this at the moment. I found out I had a MMC at 8 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6+2). I knew my dates dead on so I knew it would only be bad news at the rescan a week later, however from my extensive reading online it really can go either way and many women really are 1-2 weeks out!
I have chosen to give my body some time to process it naturally. I have horrible all day pregnancy sickness and it lasted up until 9 weeks. I am now 10+2 and the last few days I have felt exhausted and a little nauseous but my appetite is slowly returning.
I have a couple of friends who opted for surgical management and their symptoms stopped as soon as they'd had the procedure.

@Marie1479 when I found out I still have pregnancy symptoms (although comparing with my current pregnancy they were not as strong as the symptoms this time). My miscarriage passed out naturally around 2 weeks after I found out it has stopped, and the symptoms had been gone for a few days then. My pregnancy stopped at 5+6 and in the scan they could only see the sac, they needed to do an internal scan to see a small tiny embryo of 2 mm.

When did you get you BFP? Was it around your missed period date?

@buntywindermere I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through the same. I find it crazy you can still have strong symptoms. I knew my dates so I feel it will be bad news unless my dates are really off because of the miscarriage a month before x

@Lostintranslatio ah I’m glad to hear you’re pregnant that’s lovely news. I wouldn’t say my symptoms are strong but they are still there. My scan was an internal that showed similar size to yours. I had my BFP a day after my period was due. So I possibly could have conceived 25th December, period was due 27th, test was positive 28th so those dates are very doubtful. I know its 99% negative news but you can’t help but have a tiny bit of help. It does help to hear all your experiences though. Thank you x
