Anyone else in follow up scan limbo- waiting to hear if pregnancy is/isn't viable?

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone else is in the same boat- waiting on a follow up scan to have it confirmed whether pregnancy is/isn't viable.

I had a scan in my EPAU just over a week ago (Friday before last). Scan wasn't good news, but they couldn't definitely confirm it was a mc as it was measuring so early- sacs less than 5 weeks with no embryos, when today I am exactly 8 weeks by LMP.

I have my follow up scan on Monday where they expect to confirm mc and give me management options.

Anyone else in the same boat- either waiting for confirmation of bad news, or hoping for a better outcome than previous scan?

It's so nerve wrecking- I want the scan on Monday to both be over and to never arrive because it's not news to look forward to 😔. With my previous mc last year I just had one scan which confirmed mmc after which I had my MVA. This waiting between scans is even worse than that experience ☹.

I'm so sorry OP.

I was in this position a few weeks ago. Was meant to be 7.5 weeks but baby measured 6+1 with no heartbeat.

I was told by the private scanner to wait 2 weeks but I asked the EPU for a re scan in 1 week and they agreed.
It wasn't a surprise when the scan showed no further growth and I then had straightforward medical management for the mmc.

After it was completed, I felt huge relief as the limbo period was akin to torture.

Sorry you didn't have a better outcome @LuckyWithMyLot. Yes, the waiting is unbearable! Thank you for taking the time to reply x
