Yes, it's totally normal. I lost one at 12 weeks, that had stopped growing at 9 weeks and there was lots and lots of very large clots.
I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers

It’s natural for your uterus to contract Clodagh. However, do seek medical advice because you need to ensure everything has come away and you need peace of mind. So sorry you’ve had this loss — no matter what stage it is still very significant to the woman concerned. Intellectually you can accept it may have been “ natures way” etc etc but emotionally it is very hard.
Take care of yourself

SunnySideUp2020 · 29/01/2022 10:21

@Clodagh21
Go get yourself checked asap.
The pain isnt normal after so much blood and tissue i think. You may have retained products.

Nik84 · 29/01/2022 20:04

I lost my baby on Wednesday night and had large amounts of blood, clots and tissue. It’s absolutely horrendous and very frightening. I hope you’re ok. I’ve still got some pain and bleeding so I was examined today, he pulled some more tissue out and said it looks like there’s still more to come. I can’t believe there could be anymore after all that has come out, I just want this nightmare to be over. I’ve got that feeling low down too, I suspect it’s normal. Look after yourself x

Nik84 · 29/01/2022 20:07

I’m booked in for a scan on Monday to check if everything has passed, get checked over if you’re worried x

danni0509 · 29/01/2022 20:12

Sorry for your loss. Flowers

Yes it’s totally normal for that amount of blood and tissue, I had the exact same. I had cramps for quite a few days afterwards too, if your worried definitely seek some medical advice though.

Hope you feel better soon x

You might be best ringing the early pregnancy unit and getting an ultrasound in case you have retained products.
I hope you are feeling a bit better tonight.

Clodagh21 · 29/01/2022 21:32

I went to hospital today and they checked and noticed there was some tissue stuck in my cervix which they removed. Been told theres still more to come it was completely horrendous I never want to experience something like that again. Although they are going to send over some of tissue for testing to see what went wrong. Have a follow up on Wednesday with EPU

ofwarren · 29/01/2022 21:36

It's absolutely awful isn't it
I'm glad you went and they helped you.

Clodagh21 · 29/01/2022 21:56

Me too. They've given me some pain meds too so hopefully the next few days are easier

@Clodagh21 it is totally normal to pass so much tissue. I remember I had to change two big maternity pads in less than 15min. You did right going to the hospital to get checked. Losing so much blood might make us faint.

Clodagh21 · 29/01/2022 22:22

Yeah I’ve been getting very lightheaded aswell, they gave me some anti sickness tablets I wonder if it was to help that?
