Waters breaking??

So I've just been to the toilet this morning, had a nice long wee, got back into bed to chill and felt a small crack in my lower back then a pop at the front. Didn't hurt, just made me jump!

A minute or two later I got up again as I was uncomfortable and as I stood there was this slight gush of warm fluid that came from my V that I couldn't stop.

Went to loo, and wiped at the trickle that was there and it was clear, no smell and didn't look like urine.

I've rang the assessment centre and they've advised i wear a pad and keep an eye on it and if it happens again or I notice my pad getting wet then to call again.

Any ideas? Could it have been my waters breaking?
I'm 37+3 today, due for induction on the 8th..

I am 26 weeks pregnant and something similar happened me this week. I had just been to the toilet, stood up and was washing my hands when I felt a gush of liquid in my underwear. Checked and underwear was wet and there were clear drips coming down my legs, same as you, no smell. I rang my maternity unit and they asked that I came in to check the fluid in case it was amniotic. They swabbed me and checked and it wasn't amniotic but told me if it happened again to come back in. I'm not really sure what it was, didn't seem to be urine (especially since I had just gone to toilet) and seemed too much like a liquid to be discharge. Keep an eye on it and if you aren't happy I would ask them to swab you and test it.

It could be your waters, or it could either be urine (which can be clear and not smell much if you drink a lot), or it could be watery discharge.

I have been to the MDAU this morning for the same thing (39+5) - small gush which I thought were my waters breaking. They called me in and did a speculum exam and swab, in which they test for amniotic fluid. They'll ask you to cough during that as well, to see if there is any trickling. Mine came back negative, but there was trickling so have been told to keep an eye on it. It appears that mine may have just been watery discharge.

drink a lot of water that should say! **

mummyh2016 · 28/01/2022 12:56

It does sound like your waters, I'm surprised they haven't asked you to go in to be checked.

That happened to me when mine went, got back into bed after going to the loo and then felt a small gush, every time I got up after laying or sitting down there would be more, they eventually went properly and spectacularly a few hours later

Sounds like your waters have gone just like mine did with a pop!

PinkandBlueMotherofTwo · 28/01/2022 16:19

Sounds like waters! My fore waters went with a pop when I went into labour and was doing a wee it was v much like slow trickle then hind waters went in a huge gush just before birth.

Mae2020 · 28/01/2022 16:37
