I have signed up for NCT antenatal classes although this is baby no.2. However, it is 7yrs since I was pg witih dd and then just went to NHS ones which weren't that great. Also, this is dh's first so thought classes might be helpful for him. My question is, they also do a refresher class so I am wondering if that might be better? I'm particularly keen on learning more about relaxation/breathing techniques which weren't covered at the previous NHS ones. Does anyone have any experience of either NCT class? I don't really want to find myself in a group of all 1st time mums as I am also hoping to get something out of the social side of it as well.

I would go back to the person you booked the classes with. She should be able to tell you whether it is likely to be full of 1st time Mums. I rung our local one last week being pregnant with no. 2 and was told that they will mainly be 1st timers. Ok if you don't mind, but I would love it they had a refresher course in our area where you are more likey to have 2nd + timers. Having missed out on the NCT classes last time I would like to go to them, because everyone I know who's been on them says they are really good.
