Wondering if anyone has had similar and if this is normal or if I should go back. I’m 14 weeks pregnant with baby number 2 but a big age gap between pregnancies and everything is so different from before. I’ve had bleeding, well more sort of spotting on and off since the beginning. Everything is ok on scan but I was sent home from the maternity hospital (that I don’t like or trust anyway) with an Hvs swab like the one they do your smear with and told to do it at home and hand it into my gp the next day. I did query this at the time as it didn’t seem right but midwife at hospital said it was. Handed it into my doctor who looked at me like I had three heads and told me they won’t accept it as it needs to be done by a midwife at the maternity hospital and labelled correctly and tested at the same hospital (this actually sounds more reasonable to me) so I called the maternity hospital back and they said no. It’s done at home by me and the gp is to send it back to them. Anyone else had this? Which is correct? I don’t have a midwife allocated to me and I won’t get one till I’m 22 weeks so I’ve not really got one to ask. There isn’t a midwife at my go surgery anymore either.
