I'm 5wks pregnant, so no midwife to contact, and have just tested positive for covid.

I'm feeling pretty rundown with covid on top of how exhausted I already was feeling - but also freaking out about if it's going to have any impact on a healthy pregnancy.

In my results note, it says to contact your midwife if your pregnant - but I don't have anyone to contact!

I contacted my GP who said to keep on top of any fever with Paracetamol , rest and stay hydrated.

She said the main risk is in the 3rd trimester when baby is big and putting pressure on lungs.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I put a post up last night asking what to do and people said contact the midwife. I did and they weren't bothered at all, basically keep hydrated and take paracetamol- anything stronger would need to be prescribed by gp. Said to contact 111 if I got very ill.

So basically I think if you start to struggle GP or 111 is your best bet. You could even call 111 now if you want advice.

Thanks both! That makes me feel a lot calmer
