Dreaming of baby’s gender before I knew I was pregnant, could it be accurate?

I found out a few days ago I’m pregnant, I’m now 11 days pregnant, when I was just 2 days pregnant (I write my dreams down) I dreamt of holding a newborn baby girl in my home rocking her to sleep. Obviously at 2 days pregnant I had no idea I was pregnant, I wrote it down and thought nothing more of it the same as the dream I visited heaven lol, had anyone had a baby gender dream early in pregnancy the the dream been the correct gender?

I had a dream I was having a little boy when I think I was about 12 weeks or so. Obviously I knew I was pregnant but didn’t know gender. Am now 20+5 with a little boy. But I don’t know weather it’s just because I had an early scan at 10 weeks and from then I convinced myself I was having a boy xxx

If you were dreaming of gender then the baby can be dressed head to toe in pink no issues.

Depends if you were thinking of the sex

(And before someone says 'there is always one's it does matter, especially if the baby is female.

I'd say you got about a 50% chance of being right.

draramallama · 26/01/2022 09:47

Given that the odds of being correct by random chance are 1 in 2 then it would hardly be remarkable.

AwkwardPaws27 · 26/01/2022 09:50

Theres is 50% chance Grin

I was convinced baby was a girl - had anomaly scan a few weeks ago and most definitely a boy!

MissingGrandstand · 26/01/2022 09:52

Mine was wrong! I had had vivid dreams about a boy from finding out I was pregnant up until 15 weeks, super realistic dreams, to the point I didn’t quite believe the sonographer when she told me a girl. Has been confirmed at 3 subsequent scans and yet I’m still half expecting a boy when I give birth! Pregnancy does very strange things to the mind Grin

Right on both counts. I had a very vivid dream about having a daughter when we were considering ttc, but the second the radiographer started the scan, there was DS, legs akimbo.

I dreamt I had a baby koala, but in the end it was human.

MistyFrequencies · 26/01/2022 10:22

1 in 2 chance you correctly guess the sex.

I was sat watching TV and just had a thought a boy will be joining us soon. I had no reason to think I was pregnant at the time. I just knew in my soul I was going to have a baby boy!

Moonshine160 · 26/01/2022 11:29

I dreamt I was having a girl and I had a boy.
There is a 50% chance you’re right :D

At a very early stage in my pregnancy, I dreamed that I was to have a baby boy and he'd be 6 feet tall with blond hair and blue eyes. [I always wanted a girl.]
DH and I had a good laugh about this dream because I am very dark haired with brown eyes. [I was secretly very smug that I would be having the first dark haired grandchild for my In-Laws!!!]

Anyway, fast forward to me giving birth to a blond haired, blue eyed baby boy! Obviously not 6 feet tall then - although he is now!!! He's 29!
When the new midwives came on duty in the hospital, they all made a beeline to see the 'blond baby boy with all the hair!!! He had loads and never lost it. Apparently it's usually a fine blond down.

My dream was true OP!!! Yours could be too....

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 26/01/2022 14:12

My daughter had a dream that her baby would be a girl and that when she was grown would be a stripper.

She had a girl (she's now 5 yrs) - not sure about the second part yet but she loves to run around naked at bath time. 😳

I remember having very vivid dreams when I was expecting. Stress/worry and hormones.

DappledThings · 26/01/2022 17:29

Could your dream be accurate? Well obviously, yes. Exactly as likely to be accurate as not.

TheVanguardSix · 26/01/2022 17:36

Congratulations!
Just wait for rest of the pregnancy dreams, OP. Grin
They're a little loopy.

TreaclePlum · 26/01/2022 17:39

Alllll my dreams I had was a boy. And throughout pregnancy more and more frequent. We didn't find out what we were having til birth.

Was a awks delivery and even the Dr's etc were like CLEARLY a boy choosing to be difficult!

Yup - was a girl hahaha

TreaclePlum · 26/01/2022 17:39

@TheVanguardSix absolutely agree to this hahaha

Of the people who may have had similar dreams, there will be some who dreamed of the sex their baby turned out to be and some who got it wrong.

Someone on here having the same experience and getting the sex of their baby right in a pregnancy dream, does not mean that you will also be right or are more or less likely to have got it right.

Hugasauras · 26/01/2022 17:41

I dreamt both times that I was having a girl and I am! I also dreamed both times about being pregnant before I tested, really vivid dreams. So who knows! Dreams are mysterious Grin
