My symptoms disappeared about a week and a half ago. This morning I had watery brown discharge which got heavier and redder as the day went on. I’ve accepted that I am miscarrying and I am feeling really scared. Can someone let me know what to expect. Thankyou.

Hi Nik84,

I’m really sorry to hear you are going through this, when I miscarried in September my bleeding got quite heavy and I passed everything naturally, is it quite scary when you are not sure what to expect, if you’re passing a lot of blood and filling up a pad quite quickly I would phone early pregnancy, have you already phoned them?
Sending lots of love xx

@Panda8383 yes I called them today and left a message but nobody got back to me. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I’m worrying myself it is ectopic on top of everything so it’s making me more anxious. Nothing in particular to make me think it is but my mind is going all over. I’m sorry you had to go through this too xx

Have you had any shoulder pain or anything? That’s absolutely shocking no one has phoned you back.you ain’t in scotland are you?..to be honest my experience with early pregnancy this time too wasn’t great! Could you maybe phone 111 and get some advice from them if you’re thinking it’s an ectopic one as that can be dangerous(not sure if they would be any help at all) you just feel like you’re in limbo don’t you, I had a missed miscarriage aswell at 16 weeks and that was completely different to having the natural one. This time I had a lot of back pain and stomach pain and then I passed everything going to the toilet, is your blood quite clotty? Xxx

Flowers I am so sorry. I hope everything turns out to be well. As you have asked for what might happen I will share a about how my EPAU approached it with me.

At 10 weeks it is unlikely but not impossible to be an ectopic. That said, there is a lot to say for “intuition” type feelings in pregnancy so you absolutely must let the EPAU know this is a concern. If you get any pain or start feel weird then don’t be afraid to go straight to A&E, do not wait around. Ectopic pregnancies are dangerous.

If this is a miscarriage your EPAU will scan you, take your medical history and then plan a safe path for you. For some women that is leaving things to happen naturally, for others it might be best to have help.

At 10 weeks a concern is bleeding too heavily or too much.

A later concern is checking everything has passed correctly.

I realise “Pain” can be difficult to quantify. When I had an ectopic the most pain I was ever in was at the same level as a little bit of trapped wind. Not the worst trapped wind feeling either.

Because I was only in a little bit of pain I nearly ignored my worry it was an ectopic. Just telling the dr I had a weird feeling it was ectopic was enough for them to check and find the ectopic.

I agree with Panda, call 111 and see what they advise.

Thanks for your help ladies. I phoned 111 and they advised to refer back to the GP. They then put an urgent referral through to EPAU. They called today and said the earliest scan available is tomorrow at another hospital but as I don’t drive and have COVID I couldn’t travel. So they’ve booked me in for Monday. Bleeding is still there but not getting heavier at the moment. I had more painful cramping when I went to bed last night but that has now stopped. I was expecting to wake up to a horror scene 😩

Nik84 · 27/01/2022 14:33

Thankyou all….Yes @laurenGame thankfully my husband has been with me and has been a rock. It was a horrific experience, I’m not really sure what I was expecting but it took a lot out of me. Now to process the emotional side and rest x
