My friend is 11 weeks pregnant and has been bleeding for 2 weeks, the initial bleed was quite strong and she passed a few clots. She has since had a scan and it seems all is ok with the baby, they have, however, found a bruise in her womb wall which they think was caused when the egg implanted its self. The doctor has said that it should heal.

My friend is worried that if the wall is damaged does that pose a risk on the placenta detaching from the womb wall?

Sorry for long post, but would like to help set her mind at ease.

TIA

Bump for you

Last bump didn't work so here's another one - how is your friend today?

lornaloo i have had this too so empathise with your friend
i was told the same as her at the early scan
at a dating scan i said outright to the sonographer 'what effect does this have on the outcome of the pregnancy?'
and she said 'none'
i am still worrying about the same as your friend but assume the professionals know best! hth x

I had this at 12/13 weeks with my last baby. She is now 4years old. hth.

I hasd this with both dd's.Bleeding ar 10wks and 15 wks. Both are fit & well 2 & 4 year olds now.My mum bled so much whilst pregnant with my sister, that she thought she was having weird periods. She didn't find out she was expecting until she was 4 months+.

It is very, very common,in fact,I was told that more people bleed during pregnancy than don't.I suppose they just don't talk about it much.My friend who is still bleeding at 20 wks says she daren't mention it as people look at her in horror & automatically assume the worse.

Good luck to your friend.
