Baby sleeping through the night at 3 weeks old - is this okay

Baby is 3 weeks old , he’s my first . He has been a good sleeper since we got home but last 3 nights he has slept through the night - 7 hours without waking. He is gaining weight & spends most of the day feeding. Does a huge feed right before bed

Is this normal / okay? Anyone else’s baby do fhis ? Not sure if we should be waking him or if it means something could be wrong. Or if I’m worrying about nothing and should just be grateful while it lasts!

As long as he’s feeding well and gaining weight I’d just enjoy it (but maybe don’t tell that mum at baby group who hasn’t slept for 8 months Grin )

I think as long as baby is feeding well during day gaining weight all is absolutely fine and some might say very lucky 😂 Congratulations on baby and enjoy 😊

Enjoy it op!!

My DS did this from birth. I had to wake him for every feed throughout the night. HV wasn't concerned. I had to wake him until he was a good weight and his jaundice went. Stopped waking him through the night at about 4 weeks.

Our baby did this. The midwife said it was fine not to wake him for feeds once he’d regained his birth weight, so that’s what we did. I didn’t double check the advice though, just went with it! Baby is now 12 months+ and fine (and still sleeps through the night!).

Oh wow OP! Consider yourself lucky! My 2.5year DS still wakens ~5 times per night. 3mo DS is every hour without fail. I have sleep envy! 😬 enjoy!! X

My firstborn did this. Then hit the 4 month sleep regression. All I can say is enjoy your sleep while it lasts Grin
