Waxing for Labour...

I know this sounds quite vain, but I would like to have my bikini line waxed in preparation for labour. Everyone keeps telling me not to bother as it will be the last thing on my mind, but I would like to get it done.

My local beauty therapist says it is OK, but there is a the possibility of getting a bit more bruising than usual as the skin is so stretched.

I am currently 33 weeks and was going to wait for another few weeks before getting it done - can anyone confirm that it is OK to get waxed this late in pregancy?

Thanks in advance!!!

i had my bikini line waxed whilst in labour!

i never heard any reason why not, and don't remember it being particularly painful or any bruising. though i only ever have a bit of a "tidy up" rather than a full on waxing session IYKWIM

I am definitely pruning the lady garden.. I am 36 weeks and thought I was in early labour on xmas eve- actually bad case of wind- but went straight in the bath and made sure the ankle fringe was gone!!!!!!!!

You may be a bit more sensitive than before. Bear in mind that you shouldn't really take paracetamol to dull the pain/redness unless you really need it. (Before pg, i took 2 x paracetamol to reduce redness with waxing.)

I sympathise cos i really want my brazilian done but will have to wait until (a long time) after the birth.

yeah its fine to have your parts waxed when pg i had mine done i was just a little more sensitive than normal ( i have done beauty therapy so i know you can have this done) so therapist may not like to do it but you will be fine iof you find a salon/ therapist thats confident. good luck with your new baby .

Get it all done, hair, nails, front fluffy the lot, you will feel great and it may be some time before you get a chance for a proper pamper again.

I am always more sensitive during pregnancy, tea tree oil sorts it out though.
