Ocarro pram - small boot

We've ordered the ocarro from mamas and papas and I'm in love, but I'm now panicking it won't fit in my boot! None of their stockists within a few hours drive will let us try it in the car because of covid and I'm struggling to figure it out with the measurements because of the angle of the glass when I shut the boot.

Long story short - has anyone got this pram with a smallish car? I have a Mazda 2. I very rarely use my car so it wouldn't make sense to upsize right now.

I’m interested in the ocarro too and also have a small boot (Audi A1 sportback). Don’t want to upgrade my car yet until after maternity leave will be finished. Will follow to hopefully hear some answers

Bookmarking as I may be able to help you soon! I have an Occaro on the way and a household member has a Mazda 2, so if no one has answered by the time it arrives I will report back

I have got the Occarro and it fits in the boot of my Ford Fiesta but I have to pop the back wheels off to get it to lie flat in the bottom of the boot.

I have the occaro, fits in my astra but I can't have the boot lid. I think it will work at certain angles

@MissingGrandstand that would be amazing thank you, need to start investigating smaller alternatives if not!

@JaffaCake123 do the wheels pop off fairly easily?

@rathernotshare Yes really easily, there is a button to release them and then they slide back on and pop into place.

rathernotshare · 22/01/2022 18:53

@JaffaCake123 thank you, just watched a video on YouTube and didn't realise it would be so simple. I'm fairly confident it will fit if I take the wheels off 🤞

I have the ocarro and it fit in the mini I used to have (without parcel shelf). I did have to put it in a certain way but that was okay. The wheels coming off would have been good to know! Oh well, got a big car now anyway.

We tried the ocarro and it fit in a new style Audi a1 with one wheel removed.

Ended up going for the m&p flip though as it was a lot lighter and fit in with no faffing.

Hi, I know this was a while ago, but just wondered if it did fit - I'm looking to get the occaro and have the same car so hoping someone can confirm!

rathernotshare · 08/03/2023 22:04

Hi! Yes 😊 I do have to separate the pram attachment from the chassis and put it in as 2 parts but it’s literally one click to split them and one click to reassemble so no problem at all. I leave my parcel shelf off and put the chassis in folded and upright as I find this quickest, but it does fit flat if you take one of the back wheels off (again this is just one click). So a minor faff but less so than getting a new car and quick with practise!

Oh amazing - thank you! Definitly don't want to have to buy a new car!

Tryingforthefirst · 13/03/2023 07:03

I bought a new car… it was a faff constantly taking the wheel off when it’s wet/muddy.
And with pram in the boot and the car seat and base in, my husband couldn’t fit in my car unless he was driving it… he couldn’t fit in front of the car seat or behind the driver seat at 6ft 4.
