Spotting/Pink Smear - Anxious mumma to be

Hi all,

Please help!

My partner and I both struggled to conceive for the last 5 years. (He has very low very inactive S/c and one IVF child from a previous relationship)

Terrified as am at 10+5 into my current attempt (a total miracle as we did it naturally by accident!!!!) and have had strange pink smear when wiping around the time my period would be due each month.

It lasts for 2-3 days and looks similar to implantation bleeding but you shouldn’t get that every month should you? (it has happened twice now)

I have no pain or cramping and no backache or dizziness and don’t feel weak.

The only other worry I have is that I had morning sickness for 9 days (at around 7 weeks) and then it just vanished.

Concerned as this is my 10th pregnancy without carrying to term. After much poking and prodding and scans and biopsies the previous pregnancies ended with no real diagnosis of any problems - am tired of being told “it’s just bad luck” “it’s just happens sometimes”

Dating scan is scheduled for just over a week away - should I wait or book and emergency appointment?

Sorry to fret but am just terrified of not hearing that heartbeat - I want to know but part of me can’t bare to!

Sincerely - Incredibly Anxious Charli xx

I had a similar thing jn this pregnancy around 9 weeks and everything turned out fine. If your worried and can afford to do so I would definetly get an early scan! Thinking of you xx

@Daisysandviolets

I’m absolutely terrified if truth be told!

My OH says his previous partner had bleeding all the way through her IVF pregnancy and his son is 13yo now!

He thinks I shouldn’t panic and just wait but it’s so hard.... I’ve been waiting so long for this and after so many devastating losses it’s hard not to fear the worst!!

Thank you for your support! I will look into the costs xx 💗

I had a pink smear a couple of weeks ago at about 8 weeks and then a tiny blood clot last week. Both times were a day or 2 after sex. I did worry and I still do, but I think it’s due to the higher blood flow and a sensitive cervix. Yours sounds like it might be hormonal as it comes when your period would have been due x

@MissCharliMac89 hi, with my first son I didn't find out I was pregnant till I was 8 weeks and then 5 days after I started feeling cramping pains on the way home from work I was on the phone to my mum and I told her and she asked if I had any bleeding I said no then when I got in I went to the toilet and seen blood when I wiped and when I got up to leave the bathroom loads came down my legs that happened twice but then it when to slow bleeding again but I had a scan and he was fine he's now 8 they didn't say though that it was an attempted miscarriage so just be careful I had a few complications with my first pregnancy though if your concerned see you gp or speak to your midwife

Hi, I'm new to this. It's a bit of smelly one this is. I have a Yorkie and when we're out he rolled in poo, now he's got a temper when comes to having a bath, but see today he's going mental when we get near him. He absolutely flipping stinks! How can I get him in the bath without losing any fingers? Thanks

Dobz · 23/01/2022 02:13

Sorry I'm in the wrong place 😅

holdonbaby · 23/01/2022 03:48

@MissCharliMac89 I had the pink about 4 times between 5-6 weeks.

Due to your history I would contact your mw/ gp if you need reassurance.

I can imagine you're terrified, big hugs.

Haha @Dobz I hope you managed to bath the smelly dog 😂
