Pregnant, losing my job and about to complete on mortgage!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. So I am about to sign the contracts for the purchase of my new home, in the same week I found out I am being made redundant (local council job) and the following week I find out I’m pregnant. What are my options if any. So upset and stressed x

How much redundancy are you due and are you buying alone or with someone else?

I’ve only been doing the job a year so not even 2k and yes buying alone

I think you need to break down into steps

• do a redundancy calculator - you can do it online to work out how much you will get as a pay out

• did you declare your pregnancy - it's protected to a certain extent during pregnancy and they should put you top of list for an alternative job

• have a look at the job market and get your CV out as soon as possible

What about the baby's father?

My partner is supporting but can’t pay for everything. My thoughts are, will I be able to get another job plus maternity and would I have to declare it before accepting the job. Would they even take me on knowing I’m pregnant?

I am on their redeployment list but I have not told them my situation as I have only known for two days about the pregnancy
