Mucus plug lost at 18 weeks

So I lost my mucus plug two days ago at 18 weeks and went into the hospital to see a midwife yesterday she checked if my belly was hard and baby's heart beat and she said everything is okay with baby and that the mucus plug should regenerate but I can't help but still stress I had two previous miscarriages and I'm not sure if I'm over reacting but surely my cervix could be open and she didn't do any internal checks, I didn't have pains at the time but had some cramping through the night last night and pains on sides of abdomen (nothing unusual from the pains iv been having since 14 weeks)
has anyone lost the mucus plug early? Did everything end up okay?

I didn't - however loads of people do lose their plugs throughout pregnancy sometimes multiple times. It will regenerate.
If you are concerned though go back to your midwife or your local pregnancy unit and get yourself checked out.

Listen to the midwife

I lost mine at 31-32 weeks, the baby came early at 35 weeks. The plug came out due to dehydration. The hospital was unconcerned after doing a few iv drops to stop labour, and said it could regenerate, to stay away from baths and sex as less protection against bacteria without the plug, and to hydrate so much. Good luck!

Sorry iv drips* I went into early labour the day after the plug came out and that was how they initially stopped it

Lost it a few times in my first pregnancy. Baby stayed firmly in place until she was drip induced out of me at 37 weeks (pre-eclampsia, nothing to do with plug).

Lost a few chunks of it this pregnancy as well, and everything is going fine so far at 30 weeks. As the midwife said, they can regenerate. They probably wouldn't want to do an internal examination on you in case of introducing infection. Hope that helps.
